From all of the email that I received asking for help with TNT based cards, I decided that it would be necessary to test the Viper 550 on systems based on both the Aladdin V and MVP3 Chipsets. As I stated earlier, with the latest driver revisions, virtually all of the problems previously experienced by MVP3 users have now disappeared but ALI's chipset still randomly locks in OpenGL applications. One thing that MVP3 users need to be aware of is that unlike most AGP graphics cards, TNT based cards require resources in the form of an interrupt request and need to have an IRQ assigned to VGA in the BIOS' PNP/PCI Configuration. It will also be necessary to configure your existing AGP card to Standard PCI VGA Device before attempting to upgrade.

The TNT equipped Viper shows nearly unbeatable scores as far as performance as far as 2D/3D solutions go. All of the performance scores here were determined by averaging the scores rendered by three separate runs of each test
