G200 Image Quality

With the release of nVidia's TNT, 3Dfx's Banshee and S3's Savage3D graphics chips, the G200 has taken somewhat of a backseat as far as raw speed.  As to the overall image quality however, the G200 holds it's own, surpassing the the whole kit and kaboodle on a pixel by pixel comparison - though it is a very close call in some cases.  Have a look at the image quality again through the use of the 3DMark™ 99 benchmark application...

It is quite apparent that the textures are rich and full and the colors are deep and vivid with crisp clean edges that aren't so apparent in the Banshee and Savage3D.   The TNT however is a very close rival...

Except for the 3D Winbench 99, which was performed on the Iwill XA100 Plus alone and 3DMark 99 test, which was only run on SOYO's SY-5EMA+ all tests were run three times on each of the mainboards and the scores averaged to reflect the numbers posted below...

ZD BOP's 3D Winbench 99 3D graphics benchmark is a bit tough on the G200 as many of the required hardware attributes aren't supported by the untweaked G200.  As such, the scores reflect poorly on the G200's abilities.  Take a look...
