Comment: Great board.. Acquired this board in response to a upgrade problem with a PCHIPS M577 mainboard. Noticed from the installation this board fitted better in case and cards seated correctly then prior mother board. Didn't have to bend the tabs on the boards up to make the cards seat into the sockets. Bootup went fine and defaults seem to realistic. Installed a ATI All in Wonder 128 32meg AGP, ALI 4000 sound card, Viking 56k modem card, and Netgear FA310TX NIC. Everything came up fine with exception the ATI card wouldn't install the drivers correctly. Checked ATI site and they recommended to get the latest AGP drivers from ASUS and this solved the problem. I can now run my ATI TV card and not crash and overall the system is running much better then with the older PCCHIPS motherboard. I would recommed this to anyone.

Comment: Big problems using this board with an ATI Rage 128 AGP card. System locks up when I load up a 3d game. I've got all the latest Ali Drivers and the latest BIOS from ASUS. Anyone else had the same problem?

Comment: I using this MB 1 year with K6-2 333 up to 350 ( it's not max., just I don't want overclock more ) and changed many videocards, int. modems, sound cards. No problems with it. Just Riva Vanta 8M don't want work in 2x AGP. But in 1x Turbo mode - no problem too. Good mainboard.

On 22-Jul-00, rip left the following
Comment: I used this board to review the K6-2+. It ran perfectly stable at 500,550,600 and 617MHz. Although the board doesnt officially support the K6-2+ I was able to use Rawpower to enable write allocation and linear frame buffer optimization.

Comment: Hey Sjeng ! Try to install Ali AGP driver 1.60. I use an Octek Savage4 with 2x AGP and enabled sideband addressing. TNT2 and MGA G400 Should work too. Overclockers ! My 450 K6-2 runs at 550 MHz with 2,4V core voltage. I use a genuine intel Socket 370 Celeron Cooler, and 3 additional fans. One of my friends also has a 450 that is stable at 5,5 x 110. I think this board is much better than any other Ali M1542 based product. Richye

Comment: Great board and easy to set up. My retail K6-2 333 CPU runs at 400MHz in this board until I replaced it with a $62 K6-3 400 CPU. That was with a stick of PC66 too. LOL I use a V3 2000 PCI for vids and a Esoniqs/Creative Labs sound card. I would recommend this board. Its good stuff.
