I have a P54CX/MMX motherboard. I've been having problems upgrading my RAM from 32M. I want to put another Dim in the second slot (64M). So far I've tried 4 different kinds, but the computer only recognizes 16 more meg. Does anyone know what kind of dim ram I need? Please let me know. Thank you, Bob

My mainboard is a disaster (Soltek SL56-d1). When it runs at 450 mhz it crashes all the time, but when I UNDERclock the CPU to 400 mhz it runs smoothly. Does anyone now what the problem could be???? I have already updates BIOS, and I got a driver from Soltek support, but nothing than errors appear. In DOS environment there are no errors, but when I run WIn98: I got these errors: general protetction error and fatal errors etc. PLEASE HELP!!!

Tested with AMD K6-2 450Mhz CPU (in hope of better performance than Intel Celeron 333 on ASUS P2B) Result: Outperformed by Celeron 333. Notes: Marginal Motherboard, to be kind to Soltek. Basic features missing (hardware monitoring,UDMA 66 support etc.). Not easy to use, obsolete, useless & misleading manuals (both hard copy and CD). Prepare yourself for hours of digging around for information what patches & fixes to install and guess out in which order to install them to make the board work at all. Poor PnP & hardware identification, unstable with only 3 PCI (PnP) & 2 ISA (PnP)cards installed. The system performed well & benchmarked in it's class before, without need for any patches with ABIT & ASUS motherboards. Seems that PCI patch does not solve problem with goofy IRQ assignments to PCI devices. You never know what you get after reboot.

i use the 56d5 with an k6-2 350 mhz processor It is a good Mainboard but i dont like the way to flash the bios. I also use the ax59pro from AOPEN Mainboard and surely it is better as "Yellow Dragon": A fast execute flashing for the bios and a better clock settings. So that磗 my comments!

For Vcore settings of 2.3V (K6 III, etc), my suppliers tell me that the bottom jumper -labeled SPACE - should support this setting. But older boards need to have the BIOS upgraded to L3 revision or above to support later CPUs.

Sorry, thats 2.4v not 2.3v as stated above.

I'm trying to add more IDE ports using a DTC 2130 D dual port IDE card. This card needs IRQ 14 or 15. This card is PCI. How can I redirect IRQ 14 or 15 to this card. Can find no information in the BIOS on how to do this. HELP
